| Damn son. I want to go. Right now I would love to run away. I would have to be back in Nov. for the birth of my first grandchild. But until then----live the adventure. Good luck to you Miah. | ||||
| I finally just finished getting caught up on all your emails and updates on your sight, Ive been busy with that summer job I told you about last time I talked to you. I told you I was leaving to Florida at the end of april. Well we made it in 3 days: Day 1 Lincoln Nebraska. Day 2 twenty hours of straight driving to Atlanta Georgia where my Aunt Suzan put us up for the night (day actually since we didnt arrive until 7am) I saw Kansas City, Saint Louis, Nashville, and Chatanooga along the way. Day 3 straight on till Tampa Florida. We were only there for about 2 weeks actually til the company decided the market there wasnt what they predicted. So they transferred us all up to Grand Rapids Michigan. What a great way to see the country they paid for all our travel expences, Gas Motels, Flat tires we had 2 My friend Matt and I in his Neon. Saw Atlanta and Nashville again and Louisville and Indinapolis (Lost a bit of my faith in humanity in indianapolis during one of our flat tires at a gas station. The owners were Arabian, long story, it rocked my world to see how they could treat people so horribly.) So then it was just knocking doors for the next 6 weeks in Michigan. Made alot of friends with the locals who showed us all a good time. Me and my 5 roommates. Then as planned I came home to see my sister get married at the end of june, and to see my Lil' brother off to Kingston Jamaica where He'll spend the next two years of his life. On the Way home I spent three days in Chicago where I spent my mission saying Hi to families I hadnt seen in over 3 years. One of my old comps. moved back there and is going to NorthWestern University He put us up for the two nights. I got to spend about 3 hours catching up with a beautiful girl I nicknamed "German Chocolate Cake" (cuz she's half german half chocolate :) I taught and baptised her over 3 years ago. On the rest of the way home my caravan consisting of 3 cars, 5 people, all co-workers who just decided to call it quits and come home when I did, stopped in Nauvoo IL. for a day and Winter Quarters which is present day Omaha NE. they're both church history sites. When I got home I hooked it up with this girl, Reina, who I started dating right before I left we realy hit it off but I had already made my plans to leave so the whole time I was gone we talked on the phone almost every night. She's a sweet latin girl half El Salvadorian half Mexican, raised in the U.S. She was just baptised last March, her Mom kicked her out of her home when Reina told her her decision. It was like she chose me to help her through this challenging part of her life. She wanted to date a return mormon missionary for one thing and I guess I just "fit the bill." I invited her to come to my sisters wedding and meet my family and to my brothers farewell. Other than that I've just been looking for work and a car since my family sold mine when I was in Michigan. I went up to Jackson Hole last week and ran the Snake river 5 times and went cliff jumping, what a blast! Thats all for now. Thanks for all the updates on your adventures, I feel priveledged to have a friend like you out there in the world... peace out - Tyson | ||||

| Jeremiah, I've been printing out all of your travel updates as I receive them, because it gives me so much pleasure to follow along with your life on the road. It's the life I want for myself, but at the moment I'm trying to finish up this master's program in Italy, and sharing the old age of my dog, Stella, who doesn't permit me to travel "come una volta". July in Perugia, Italy means Umbria Jazz, an annual celebration of jazz and blues, and so this evening I will be going to hear James Brown perform in the park above my apartment. In August I want to attend a friend's wedding in Amman, Jordan, but we'll see how that goes. A dogsitter is hard to find in Italy in August, when all Italians take their month-long holiday. I haven't seen you in ten years, but I keep you in my heart and my thoughts. Happy travels! |
